There is a simple sentence to memorize the whispering letters to decide, when to use -ci or -çı:
"paşa çok hasta" - look for the consonants.

I think the person that sells old things (trash or treasure) is called an eskici. Doğru mu?

Doğru! If they are wheeling a cart around and just collecting trash, they are çöpçü. If they are selling the stuff on the cart, they are eskici. It's a fine line :)
