Alright, I have a question (do you actually answer them here?). At the end you have "filminde." Where did that "n" come from? I mean, I get it's a buffer letter, but I thought the word for film was, well, film. Why is there an extra i?

Of course we answer them. Same day service, too :)

I think I see the confusion. "Film" here is part of the compound noun "komedi filmi." That extra i is the compound noun suffix (like in mantı evi, yüzme havuzu, etc.) The "n" is the usual buffer letter you have to add when appending additional suffixes to that compound noun construction (which I realize is slightly weird since there is no vowel conflict).

Does that help?

My two cents - there might have been no confusion if you made your hover thing work over all of "komedi filminde" instead of the two words separately. Might make sense since the entire compound noun is sort of one unit. Just a thought.

That's a good idea. Thanks, Tim.

@Aditi,,, you asked for "filminde." Where did that "n" come from? Here is the answer: The translation of "filminde" is "in the film" which correctly translation of "filmi içinde" in Turkish. So as we say "filmi içi-nde" becomes "fiminde" It is something like "i donno" "i wanna know" thing.

Great lessons, guys! Your grammar explanations are the clearest that I've ever encountered and I clearing up confusions that I've had for years. Thanks so much!

Actually, as well as to praise you, I'm also letting you know a little mistake in your 'Language Points' sections. It says at the top of the page:

To say I am prettier than her in Turkish, you say Pınar ondan daha güzel.

but I'm guessing that should be:

To say I am prettier than Pınar in Turkish, you say Pınar'dan daha güzelim.

or actually, as the next sentence is:

Literally: From her, Pınar is more pretty.

Ondan, Pınar daha güzel.
